2nd Annual Preble Hive Games

Students across the Green Bay Area Public School District came together to participate in the second annual Preble Hive Games May 8, 2026. 

The Preble Hive Games is an opportunity for students to make connections with peers from across the district who have similar learning needs, through an adaptive field day. 

Preble High School Special Education staff and the student group Preble Pals hosted the games on the football field. Traditional field days can be overwhelming for many students, so Preble High School staff created the Hive Games with various student needs in mind.

Students from East, Preble, Southwest, and West High Schools participated in a variety of adaptive games and activities as mixed teams throughout the morning. The event focused on fun, peer connection, and some friendly competition. 

The Hive Games came to life through collaboration and with the help of Preble High School community volunteers. 

Members of Preble Pals, a student club dedicated to making the high school experience accessible, served as station leaders and led students through each activity.

Teacher and Preble soccer coach Madeline Mahoney and the Preble girls soccer team also attended and assisted students during the event. 

“We are immensely proud of our volunteers for bridging gaps and creating a community where every student feels like they belong,” Jackie Hauser, GBAPS Director of Special Education said.
