This year’s National History Day theme is Exploration, Encounter, Exchange in History. We will begin your work on National History Day this fall and conclude the work next spring. There is a small entry fee to compete at the local competition and your ability to be present for at least the regional competition is a requirement. (The regional competition is held at UWGB in March, the state competition is at the University of Wisconsin in April, and the national competition is held in College Park, Maryland, in June.
Students/Parents/Guardians are responsible for all costs, but we will be selling gas cards to help pay for these costs. (If you wish to participate in NHD, I would ask that you join in this fundraiser). Last year we had thirty people compete at the regional level, and eight qualify for the state competition. Four students qualified, and three students even competed at the National Competition‼! (this was our 6th year out of 7 sending students to Washington, D.C.)
