Music Parents Association
By virtue of having a student (or students) in the Southwest Music Department, family members get the privilege of being a part of the Southwest High School Music Parents Association (a.k.a. Southwest MPA). Our mission is simple. We do everything we can to help support our excellent music programs and the great teachers that inspire our children every day. We help support the department through fundraising, student account management, and volunteer recruitment. For instance, through our fundraising efforts we help with the following expenses:
- Sheet Music Copies (lots of copies!)
- Uniform Cleaning
- Emergency Instrument Repair
- End-of-year banquet expenses
- Special Projects like the Auditorium Enhancement Project
- Special Requests from Staff for Classroom and Ensemble needs
- Scholarships for Camps & Honors Music Activities
- Provide ways for students to raise funds for the bi-annual music trip and other music endeavors
